A shop pulled a 1/1 Topps Dynasty Ohtani a few years back. It came back a PSA 9.
The owner turned down a big offer at the National and held it.
Then the card got caught in a dispute. Slab stomped and thrown in a bonfire.
Nine months later it turned up in the ashes and got re-slabbed as authentic, with "Fire Ohtani" on the label.
It sold at auction for more than that first offer.
Is the burned one worth more than the clean PSA 9 ever was, or did the story just get lucky?
