A 2018 Bowman Chrome Ohtani red refractor auto numbered to 5 sold for $2,440,000 at Goldin.
A 2003-04 Exquisite Jordan auto went for $1,464,000 the same night.
A LeBron Exquisite patch auto hit $732,000.
All five of last week's biggest card sales came out of that one auction, and Ohtani had two of them.

Ohtani took two of the top five. Is he the most collectible player alive right now, or is Jordan still the safer million dollar card?

REA's September auction runs through the 20th.
The headline card is a 1956 Topps Mantle gray back in a PSA 8.5.
A PSA 9 of that same card sold for $414,800.
There is a 1962 Mays in an 8.5 too, and REA sold a PSA 9 of it for $369,000.
Over 90 complete and near complete sets are in the same auction.

Same money five years from now: one 1956 Mantle in an 8.5, or a modern 1 of 1?

The Yankees gave out Naruto cards Tuesday night, 18,000 of them, then bumped it to 40,000 after ticket prices spiked.
Fans said resellers were offering over $200 on the spot and walking into their seating areas to ask.
One guy said he got asked if he was selling all night long.
In July, resellers got arrested at the Dodgers One Piece giveaway.

Should teams hand these out after the 8th inning so only real fans get them, or is that the price of a promo that actually works?

A PSA 10 1990 Leaf Frank Thomas sold for $430 on August 30.
Three months earlier the same card was $154.50.
Card Ladder counted a 178% climb across 29 sales.
The same card in a PSA 9 is still about $40.
It is not rare, 4,749 copies have already graded a 10.

The $40 nine or the $430 ten, which one is actually the buy today?

Ohtani's 1 of 1 2026 Topps MVP Award Winner Gold Logoman auto is in Goldin's Sports Elite #8, closing September 26.
Last year's version of the same card sold for $3 million.
His Back to Back dual Gold Logoman sold for $11 million in July.
This one is still the unredeemed redemption, so the winner has to claim the real card from Topps.

Drop your number in the comments. One guess each, first one counts, closes September 25. Closest wins bragging rights and a shoutout here when it's settled.

Over or under $3 million?

Pete Crow-Armstrong's 2024 Topps Chrome rookie auto is up 400% since Opening Day.
He's neck and neck with Ohtani for NL MVP after the August he just had.
Cal Raleigh went the other way. 60 homers last year, 20 this year, hitting .171.
His 2022 Chrome rookie refractor is down almost 60% on the year.

If you had case money today, are you buying Raleigh at the bottom or chasing PCA after a 400% run?
